I feel that. Knowing what it means to be separated from family. Even though I have never been separated from mine. But the way my heart hurts when I see and hear the stories of this corrupt regime ripping people from their families. I have often times compared it to what it must have been like during the Atlantic slave trade. How shipping people to CECOT, no different than shipping Africans to plantations. One of the original sins of the USA.
you asked what we all think about how we are moving forward...WOOF...I'm really trying to get my head out the sand...to this point, my (lame) approach has been hoping for good lawyers, as it appears that one of the major fronts of this war is in the courts...I feel hopeless/unable to help on the macro levels (besides emailing my representatives and going to a rally or two), so i am focusing on my locus of control in my role as a non profit executive and making sure the staff and clients impacted by my work are seen, supported, and aided by our work together...and while our staff and clients do feel supported and cared for (loved) by the organization, it doesn't feel like enough...I'm WAY open to suggestions...
As someone who vacillates between leftist and liberal perspectives I really appreciate this lecture. You’re a brilliant teacher and I’m happy I stumbled on your channel. Subscribed.
Definitely issues over candidate. And basic rights are never just handed over. The bad guys are always looking to take power and resources and we will lose by default if we don't resist. And rights have to be pushed forward forever even if we weren't in an existential crisis. And America has never been for everyone except as an intellectual exercise. We have to recognize that and take care of all aspects of injustice including the health and welfare of the whole planet. Give aid where and when and especially how you can. just letting others know your position makes it seem possible for change in the midst of a climate of fear. I'm glad to see CL looking and talking like he's feeling better mentally. That's a lesson right there. Doing something is empowering. Feeling hopeless, you have to take care of yourself, then re engage however you can. Taking care of yourself, dancing in the streets, reading a book, there are ways to do this that are energizing to each individual.
Thank you! ❤️ You've managed to hit all the notes of what resistance entails and requires and how the different needs conflict but and should coalesce. Everyone can do something. There's room for everyone and every tool. Thank you!
Would you believe it if I showed you how truly widespread it is though? I’m pretty sure I could connect significant dots. Mixed with other folks we could paint a complete actionable picture. Then we act…shaky people don’t interest me anymore. Are you prepared to be totally chill if there is a solution that works and totally not if the solution doesn’t? Is that what you would like Lee?…I’ve thought deeply about a few things myself. 🤔
"whether or not you care or do politics, politics are going to do you" yup this
Each person has to make a choice in how they want to show up but make no mistake you have to show up. Thank you for the reminder.
love the quote re: people hating the system more than loving the people...and thanks for the delineation/definition between liberals and leftists...
Thank you. These individuals only understand one approach, and it’s not nonviolence.

I’m not in L.A., but very much interested in this kind of movement outside CA. May I inbox you for more information? I can’t see it fully.

I know who owns and invests in Substack. I know who’s behind all the social platforms I’m on. This is something basic I think everyone should know. 😎

The best strategy is chaos, so multiple concepts all over the place. Sewing confusion, so they cannot stay focused.
